IRISH CHANNEL PUB
Washington, District of Columbia
When Gary and Robert Stack purchased the ground floor cafeteria of a hotel next to Chinatown, they had dreams of opening a traditional Irish pub. The space was separated by a secondary entrance into two equal spaces. The design includes a traditional wood bar, full kitchen, dance floor, and hi-fi sound system in the rear space while the front area was designed to be a family oriented dining room. Finishes were re-used wherever possible, and Owner's furnishings, artwork, and accessories were used to keep costs low.
Worked with the Owners and their Contractor in a design-build environment to survey, design, and observe construction for new urban pub. Worked with Owners and government officials to seek federal revitalization funds for urban renewal work. Services were performed while employed with Flanagan Architects, PC.
