FRANKLIN'S GENERAL STORE

Hyattsville, Maryland is located along the busy Route 1 just north of Washington, DC. The area has become a more popular residential area with a growing commercial district. Mike Franklin operated a very popular delicatessen and novelty store, and needed to expand his building. Our design preserved the historic Hyattsville Hardware building (dating to 1880) and added on a three story warehouse style restaurant and micro brewery. The materials and colors were selected to match the funky atmosphere Mr. Franklin sought.
Provided complete architectural design services. Surveyed and documented adjacent historic structure, and worked with governing authorities to secure permit for new structure. Services were performed while employed with Mark J. Mazz, AIA, PA.
